This image shows the region around the galaxy NGC4216 in Virgo. The cascade of galaxies to the left is NGC4222, NGC4216 and NGC4206. NGC4189 is in the upper right corner, with NGC4193 below it. The backgound is filled with hundreds of faint galaxies. The image is a stack of 16 eight minute exposures using an 8" f/9 corrected Cassegrain reflector. The image was calibrated, defect-corrected and stacked, deconvolved and a sigmoid scaling was performed using AIP4WINV2. This image has been resampled down from its original size of 1980x1330.
