This image shows the field containing Stephan's Quintet - A group of galaxies in Pegasus. This galaxy group is also designated Hickson 92 or Arp319. Stephan's Quintet is the small group just to the right of center in the lower half of the image. The large galaxy visible in the upper left is NGC7331, the core of the Deer Lick Group. This image is a stack of 16 eight minute exposures using a Tele Vue NP-101 4" f/5.4 refractor. The source images were calibrated, defect-corrected, registered and stacked using AIP4WIN. This image has been cropped down from its original size of 1365x1020.

Stephan's Quintet - A group of galaxies in Pegasus. A stack of 60 sixty second exposures using a 5" f/6 refractor. This image was acquired with the full moon less than 60 degrees away.
